Longevity Beats Everything
The start date on an ad is the strongest signal you have. An ad running for three months or longer is almost certainly profitable. An ad that appeared last week is still a test.
Multiple Versions Mean They're Testing
When the Ad Library shows an ad has multiple versions, the advertiser is testing headlines, images or copy. What survives those tests tells you what their buyers respond to.
Read The Hook, Not Just The Offer
The first line and the first second of video do most of the work. Note how they open: a question, a price, a before-and-after, a local reference. Hooks that keep coming back are the ones that work.
Check Where The Click Goes
Click through. Is it a Meta instant form, a landing page or the homepage? A long-running ad pointing at a focused landing page usually means someone is tracking results closely.
Look For What's Missing
No reviews in the ad, no real photos, no clear price range, no timeline. Every missing piece is an opening for an ad that includes it.
Don't Copy, Out-Position
Copying a competitor's ad makes you the second choice. Use what you found to say something they can't: a faster start date, a stronger guarantee, a specialty they don't offer.
